Richmond, VA – June 15, 2011 – Timmons Group, a leader in geospatial consulting and applications development, was recently selected by the New Mexico State Land Office to develop and implement a new data model and automated maintenance tools in order to achieve greater degrees of data management efficiency.
The encumbrance of state trust lands for various revenue-generating activities is a central function of the New Mexico State Land Office. The efficient management of these activities with the Office is dependent upon many geospatial data sets which need to be constantly updated. In the past, maintenance of the right-of-way data was typically done on a post hoc basis or weekly. The implementation of automated tools for use by the Land Office will achieve near-real time data updates to the critical right-of-way data.
Timmons Group is providing a geospatial data model and custom software tools to develop and maintain the right-of-way data. The Agency Rights of Way (ROW) will serve as the initial test for modeling and implementing the distributed data management model. The plan is to extend these tools for use to other types of data within the State Land Office in the future.
