Richmond, VA – March 21, 2011 – Timmons Group, a leader in Enterprise geospatial products and services, was selected by the City of Manassas, Virginia to implement Web LoGIStics as the City’s new GIS Web Mapping Site. The Web LoGIStics solution for the City is built on Esri’s ArcGIS Server tools and leverages the Flex API.
The goal of the site was to produce an information-rich site that is easy to use for staff, citizens and businesses. The site is a cost-effective solution for Manassas which is hosted by Timmons Group, and lets the City staff focus on creating, maintaining, and most importantly, using the data. “Manassas was looking for a site that combined the latest technology with user-friendly interfaces. Web LoGIStics combines ArcGIS Server tools and ease of use design with the Flex API to create a site that is attractive, easy to navigate, yet still information rich,” said Lowell Ballard, Director of Geospatial Solutions for Timmons Group. “Web LoGIStics for the City of Manassas is a portal for the public and City staff to access their GIS and CAMA data along with appraisal reports, street level imagery and ArcGIS Server worldwide maps.”
The City’s site was recently deployed and given excellent reviews by a wide array of users, including the City staff, businesses, surrounding localities, and citizens. “The City of Manassas was seeking an intuitive and interactive solution to present the City’s GIS data to the public and City staff. The Timmons Web LoGIStics solution allowed Manassas to customize the presentation of the data to be easily visualized and understood,” said Margaret Montgomery, the City’s GIS Coordinator. “In addition, the solution permits continual update of data to ensure accurate data is continually available to the public.”
