Site LoGIStics - Comprehensive Internet Application

Timmons Group contracted with the Winston-Salem Business Inc., the marketing and economic development organization representing Winston-Salem and Forsyth County, North Carolina , to develop a comprehensive Internet application designed to enhance the ability to attract and promote business within the Region. Timmons Group, leveraging a combination of ESRI-based Server/Internet Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, has developed a highly advanced economic development and prospect recruitment software known as Site Logistics.      

One of the principal features of Site Logistics is the ability for WSBI to purchase a hosted (ASP) solution. The software leverages the most advanced applications development methods available in ESRI’s ArcGIS Server hosted on a robust multi-tier environment configured to use the constituents Enterprise data.

Internet-based Sites and Buildings search capabilities include:

  • Property Search
  • Text/Attribute based search
  • Reporting/Output
  • Property (Site/Building) Reporting
  • Surrounding Businesses Reporting
  • Demographics Reporting
  • Report export to a variety of supported standard formats, including PDF, Excel and XML

Data Management Functionality:

  • Site Logistics’ Administrative property management tools enable the efficient change or inclusion local site and building data. The functionality found in the Property Management component includes:
  • Add new Property
  • Edit existing Property
  • Search for Property
  • Attach Document to Properties

Hanover County, Virginia

Timmons Group contracted with the Hanover County, VA Department of Economic Development to develop a comprehensive Internet application designed to enhance the ability to attract and promote business within the County. Timmons Group, leveraging a combination of ESRI-based Server/Internet Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology, has developed a highly advanced Economic Development and prospect recruitment tool, known as Site Logistics.   Timmons Group’s software combines a companion desktop maintenance application to enable the maintenance of sites and buildings information necessary to feed the Site Logistics site, as well as the needs related to providing the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) with current building and site information in the required State database format.

One of the principal features of Site Logistics is the ability for Hanover County to purchase a hosted (ASP) solution. The software leverages the most advanced applications development methods available hosted on a robust multi-tier environment consisting of ArcIMS, SDE (ArcGIS Server) configured to use the County’s Enterprise Geodatabase data. The ASP service includes Monthly GIS database updates and Annual demographic database updates as they become available.
